What is Zride?
Zride is a zero-commission ride-hailing app for Tamil Nadu, built by Asli One Global Private Limited. Passengers book auto-rickshaw and bike taxi rides in the Zride app and pay the driver directly by UPI or cash. Zride takes no commission from the fare.
Is there a zero-commission auto app in Tamil Nadu?
Yes — Zride. On Zride the driver keeps 100% of the fare, plus any peak surcharge, night charge, waiting charge and tip. Zride earns from a flat platform fee instead of a percentage of the fare.
How does Zride make money if it takes no commission?
Zride charges two flat fees, both GST-inclusive, and never a share of the fare:
- ₹5 platform fee per auto ride, shown before you book and paid with the fare.
- A daily platform fee from drivers — ₹10 per active day for autos (launch offer; list price ₹20), charged only after a free period of up to 90 days and only on days the driver completes a ride.
How much does an auto ride cost on Zride?
Zride autos charge the Tamil Nadu government tariff: ₹50 for the first 1.8 km and ₹18 for each km after that, plus the ₹5 platform fee. A 5 km daytime trip works out to ₹108 + ₹5 = ₹113.
Between 11 PM and 5 AM the tariff adds 50%, waiting is ₹1.50 a minute, and any peak-hour surcharge is shown on the booking screen before you confirm. The app always shows the exact fare first. See auto fares.
How do I pay for a Zride ride?
You pay the driver directly at the end of the trip, by any UPI app or in cash. The fare and the ₹5 platform fee are paid together; Zride does not hold the fare.
Where is Zride available?
Zride takes bookings in Tamil Nadu. The pilot launch covers Chennai, Tambaram, T. Nagar, Velachery, Adyar, Chromepet, Chengalpattu, and the rest of Tamil Nadu is being added as drivers join. Whether you get a ride depends on Zride drivers near you; the app shows this before you book. Zride is on Android (Google Play); the iPhone app is coming soon.
Does Zride have bike taxis? Are bike taxis allowed?
Zride offers bike taxi rides in Tamil Nadu, in the Zride app. Zride switches bike taxi on state by state, and today that is Tamil Nadu only. Two-wheeler taxi rules are set by each state's transport department and can change; bike-taxi partners on Zride must submit their RC and vehicle number for verification before they get rides. See bike taxi.
What is SheRide?
SheRide lets a woman passenger ask for a woman auto driver with one tap, at the same fare and the same platform fee. If no woman driver is free nearby, the booking is cancelled at no charge — it is never silently given to a male driver.
Can I book an outstation trip on Zride?
Yes. Post an outstation trip for a car or tempo in the Zride app, verified drivers send bids, and you choose the one you want.
Is Zride safe?
Zride drivers are verified before they get rides. The app has live trip tracking, trip sharing with family, an in-ride SOS button and two-way ratings, plus SheRide for women passengers.
How is Zride different from Rapido, Namma Yatri or Uber Auto?
This page describes only Zride's own model — check each app's current terms for theirs. On Zride:
- The driver keeps 100% of the fare; Zride takes no commission.
- Passengers pay a flat ₹5 platform fee per auto ride, shown before booking.
- Passengers pay the driver directly by UPI or cash.
- Auto drivers pay a flat ₹10 per active day (launch offer) after a free period of up to 90 days.
- Fares follow the Tamil Nadu government auto tariff.
- SheRide matches women passengers with women drivers at no extra cost.
- Zride is built and run by a Tamil Nadu company, Asli One Global Private Limited.
Does Zride deliver food or parcels?
Not yet. Zfood (food and grocery from local stores) and parcel delivery are not open to the public yet — they are coming soon. Today Zride is for auto, bike taxi and outstation rides.
I drive an auto or bike. How do I join and what do I earn?
Drivers use a separate app, Zride Partner. You keep 100% of every fare; your cost is a flat daily fee (₹10 a day for autos, launch offer) after a free period of up to 90 days. The full earnings explainer is on Drive with Zride.
